About me

Laurentin is a 21-year-old French composer who publishes under the pseudonym "orion". He began writing music at the age of 14 as a self-taught artist.

orion discovered music writing somewhat by chance. As a teenager, he decided to create his own video game and the music too. Today, this first project has been abandoned, but it enabled Laurentin to find a new path in which he could evolve on, and since then, he never stopped creating music.

He's been playing drums since he was 6 and started learning piano 2 years ago (in addition to some basic guitar knowledge). orion joined Project Renaissance, in 2017, then Phoenix Rising a year later. That's how he discovered video game music. Today, he's still working on Renaissance and developing a growing interest in score writing/concert music as well as film scoring.

Laurentin composes mainly in orchestral and electronic styles. His major inspirations are Hiroyuki Sawano, Kevin Penkin and Porter Robinson. More generally, orion has a deep appreciation for the music of Japanese audiovisual productions. His music generally seeks to describe a scene. An image, a story, a situation, a memory serves as inspiration for his creation. For him, music is a powerful vector of emotion, and the feelings conveyed are according to his vision, amplified when music is associated with an image.

He has already worked for Frigiel, a youtuber with 2 million subscribers, on film scorign, as well as for independent video games and a number of short films.

Laurentin has worked for video games, short films, personal projects and is developing an increasing interest in sound design and audio engineering.
